I was extremely lucky and made The Loopy Ewe Spring Fling 2010 lottery this year.
I took a class with Jared Flood
OMG he was amazing. I learned so much during my seamless sweater workshop I was ready to start making my own sweater. He explained Elizabeth Zimmermann's percentage system so well that even if anyone is math challenged they will understand it. He really is a wonderful teacher and if you get a chance to take a class with him definitely do it.
I also took a class with Anne Hanson, sweater fitness workshop, but unfortunately I did not get a picture of her in class. Anne's class was the day after Jared's and between these two classes I can say with confidence that I am ready to tackle a sweater either that I design or one from a pattern and make it to fit my dimensions. Yeah both the instructors were that good.
My roommate was CinBen (Rav ID) from Texas and she was awesome. We actually hooked up on the Ravelry forum for the Fling and picked each other as roomies before Sheri assigned them.
Here are pictures of the fling
Cupcakes, I think they said 12 dozen were ordered by us Loopies.
Socks knitted with Vesper yarn. Not sure why Vesper was picked because Sheri doesn't sell this yarn. I love the way it stripes up. Mine is the brown pair and the yarn was a gift from Lisa (HomesteadMom on Rav).
Loopy group singing the loopy song. This is a song sung to a popular tune with the words changed. It was great.
Cindy, my roommate behind the red purse.
Hopefully I get in again next year it was a definite blast and I made a lot of new friends. The Fling ended on Sunday with a breakfast and the room left open until 5 p.m. so we could sit and knit as long as we needed. I was going to the Quality Inn and share a room with Mel (MelThomas - Rav) and Angie (LucyToo - Rav) and fly out on Monday. Turns out a couple more girls were staying there also and heading out on Monday. I was sad to go home and wish we could do this forever, this seemed to be the overall feeling.
Hugs!!!
Namaste!!!!
