Yesterday was my first week consult after being on Jenny Craig's food for a week. I did not alter the menu and bought the foods recommended for the week, this way I can try the variety of foods and see which I like and don't like. The food was good and some of it was absolutely delicious; like the turkey panini, OMG that was a great sandwich.
There were a few meals I did not eat, Friday's liunch and dinner was one day. I went shopping for gas fire logs and then to Hillsborough Yarn Shop and did not figure HYS had a microwave for my lunch so I did not bring anything with me. I realized I was getting hungry and instead of skipping lunch I stopped and picked up a chicken breast at Smithfield's and an unsweetened tea. I knew dinner was going to be Saurbraten and potato dumplings as we had started marinating the meat earlier in the week and I did not want to be starving and pig out on it, hence my major reason for eating lunch. I did do good for dinner I had a small piece of meat and about 4 golf ball size dumplings. Saturday we did our errands and for lunch I had a garden salad with grilled chicken and unsweetened tea. Those were my only meals off the plan and I really thought about what to eat and did not do my usual.
Since we are allowed unlimited salsa and certain veges I bought some celery and carrots and am using that to dip into salsa. My first two days I did not have any of the unlimited veges in my fridge and surprisingly I did find myself hungry. The reason I say surprisingly is that I would normally eat 1 maybe 2 meals a day and I thought I would be eating way more than normal so I would be overly full. LOL was I totally wrong. My portion control was way out of bounds and now seeing the portions I should be eating I was really overeating and all in one sitting. This was causing my body to store fat because it thought I was starving it and causing my brain to say I was very, very hungry, so by the time dinner rolled around I would pile on the food.
I did not do my normal walks as I am still getting over that nasty cough and any exertion causes me to hack. However, as soon as that goes away I will go back to my 30-60 minute walk every other day.
So after all that my weigh in revealed that I had lost 3.8 pounds. YEAH!!!!!!!!!
