I leave you with this today. I'm not going to post much I am very upset. I found out today that a dear friend and spiritual leader at my Unity church had a massive heart attack Saturday night. So for now I'm going to knit and meditate. Maybe I'll post something later.

I discovered Bloglines last week and I am in love with this little program. I read a lot of blogs and it takes me quite a while to go through them all to see if updates have been posted. I'm not kidding we are talking like 4 hours worth. To me that was a lot of time that I could have used knitting, being with DH, house cleaning, nah scratch that last part LOL, instead of sitting on the computer. But now I have Pimsleur to keep me busy while surfing and I feel less guilty about being on the computer ;-)
Well anway... You set up an account for free and you download this tiny program that runs in the background (if you have dsl or cable) and it tell you when the blogs you like update. You can also put a Sub With Bloglines, button/link on your toolbar (they tell you how) and when you see a blog you like you click on this link and it automatically subscribes it for you; otherwise you can put the url of the blog you read into the Add Blog page.
This really helps because there are bloggers out there that I really like but they don't update their blogs that often so I will tend to let them go by the wayside. Now Bloglines keeps the list and lets me know when they are up-to-date. Very cool in my book.

I need to ask a question and I am being serious on this. I am not trying to be a wise ass or anything of the sort. I really want to know the answer to this and would appreciate you emailing me your responses (I am even going to move my email link to the top to make it easier for you).
I read a lot of blogs and talk to a lot of people and I would say the majority of the people that I have spoken with are not GW fans and quite a few literally hate him. Which is fine with me, I am not a fan of his either and everytime I see his smug face I cringe even more. A lot of these people have no problem stating GW policy as if it is fact, and sound like they have done their job in listening to world views. Well GW's recent Address the Nation was on and I noticed that a lot of these people did not watch, I have also noticed throughout the last two years or so they have not bothered to watch or listen to anything GW has said.
Now for my questions:
Have you listened and watched him early on (now be real honest)?
if No then where did you get your information regarding his politics?
If you have never listened to him and have relied on other sources what sources did/do you rely on?
After you hear certain things do you research to make sure it is true or do you just take it for face value?
I need to know these things because the people who I admire and who have constantly bashed GW have not listened to him in a long time and I want to know where they get their information from. I am the type of person that if I don't know for sure I won't discuss it, but if I have kept up with both sides of the issue then I will most definitely be vocal. I also do not hesitate to tell anyone who has not voted to shut up when it comes to being dissatisfied with anything political; local, regional, state, or nationally. I feel if you have not voted your conscience, if you have not kept up with rival issues then what gives you the right to bitch. If you went out there and voted and voted based on your issues then go ahead bitch, but also get involved and write your senator, congressperson or whoever you need, but don't just sit their and bitch about it. Nothing will ever be done. Could you imagine if MLK just sat in his place and bitched, how much longer would it have taken for things to be done.
I also have a habit of NOT passing on political emails without doing the research. If I do pass it on without researching the issues I will make a statement at the beginning that I have't had time to research this but passing it on anyway, so I don't know if it true or not.
I really don't want to discuss politics on this blog as it makes for very strange bedfellows and extremely unhappy people and I really don't want a cat fight on this blog. But I just had to ask....
I was going to post some pics but smart me left my camera out and its batteries are dead. Once that charges I will take some pics.
Well we finally went to Lowe's yesterday and I actually decided on the colour for my dining room walls. Now mind you we started on this dining room about a year and a half ago, and I just couldn't make up my mind on the colour or what exactly I wanted to do i.e. sponge, rag, or just plain paint. So now DH has been finishing up the spackling, then onto painting, and staining the rest of the floor mouldings (we put in hardwood floors 1.5 years ago), laying them down and then the cornor mouldings. So what colour did I finally decide on, a very light sage green that will be sponged with a moss green.

Okay I am bad I do not know if New Zealand is also considered 'the land down under.' I received the sweetest email yesterday from N.Z. She gave me her blog addy and a wonderful pattern that is her Mom's, for "Gumboot Socks." Well the moment I opened her blog and saw the byline about coffee being good I knew we would hit it off. Then I read her profile and her interests are so much like mine. I have to so agree with her remark "I can picture it now: coffee poured, knitting needles clicking and chatting to our hearts content about scrapping," and converting non-knitters, sounds like something we need to do in the very near future.
Now back to news on Bright; she is still hanging in there. We still have her in the big crate so she doesn't hurt herself, but she is still not walking. Chantilly is in her crate resting and she'll be in there for 3 - 4 days, until her stitches heal. It seems she just had a very bad reaction to the sutures last time and one spot never healed from it. They took care of it and used different sutures. So far everything looks good and we have been able to keep her calm and not jumping and running around. She has been very good in her crate she only whined a little bit last night when we went to bed. She is so use to sleeping with us in bed. Soon.

I was surfing the different blogs I read, some of which I don't comment I am more of a lurker. I went to The Panopticon and read with interest his blog regarding New Year's resolution and it was so good I had to comment (it also prompted me to actually post my thoughts on my own resolution or lack of), because it was about what I had vowed I would do last fall.
Now on to another thing that is strange - I bought Elizabeth Zimmermann's book The Knitter's Almanac and have been thinking which pattern of hers do I want to try. Yes I am still working on the shirt that is a gift, I am getting tired of the pattern and that wonderful feeling that comes when you are knitting isn't as high as it was, but one good thing, it is getting to the point where I can see an end. So I have been thinking what can I substitute and alternate with. I've been thinking of that wonderful fingering wool I bought in NY at Morehouse Farms or picking up my UFO of Charlotte's Web knitted in that wonderful Koigu. So my thinking has been wandering to a shawl. I also have been wondering about EZ's book and should I knit something a month.
Not all her patterns, because some... well there... I don't... any one... well now that I think of it, the tights or to me long johns under the Nether Garments might just work for my youngest brother Chris. Chris is single, and the ultimate outdoorsmen, 365 days a year. He owns his own construction company so can set his own schedule to go out and hunt and forage. Yes he is very big into gathering ginseng, but he also fishes and hunts small and big game. He gets up extremely early in that NY cold and sits for hours either on the water or land waiting for the perfect one. So maybe the "garment," in what? wool? hmmm wool wicks away the moisture, but would it be itchy, maybe in a light weight... cotton? some cotton can be really fine and wonderful to knit with, or maybe something with silk in it... which would be better? hmmm something definitely worth researching. I could change the opening a little... WAIT!!!!!! you see this is what EZ's book does to me. This is exactly what happened when I read the chapter on the shawl and I began to change the design. Then I went over to Franklin's site and he is having an Almanac-Along. Well this was just to much of a coincidence for me and I signed up.
By the end of the week I should have pictures of the shirt.
Sweet Chantilly is going in for surgery, again, tomorrow. The site where they did the incision, where she had problems in October that they ended up putting a collar on her had a lump. It never did go down to normal so when we boarded them in December we had the vet look at it. They think it herniated and want to go back in and take care of it. So no food or drink for her after 10, which shouldn't be a problem. So I am a basket case right now worrying......

I just wish my body would get sick and get it over with. I am just on the verge of something and it won't come out full blown, it just keeps coming and going. It is a head cold along with an upset stomach, I can eat but my stomach doesn't feel like it is digesting it. The food just sits there like a lump and you feel extremely full for hours. I figured it must be a great diet though because I'm only eating once a day. So until I start feeling 100% better I'm laying on the couch and in between bouts of feeling good I get up and do some housework; which has been working out pretty good as I only lack dusting.
Needless to say that means I haven't been in my craft studio and I do need to finish up some Christmas presents in there. But I have been knitting and I am almost done with the items for the church auction. I lack about 1/3 of a sock to have the both pairs done, the head band is done and the scarf is being blocked. I started on another Christmas present and hopefully it will be done in time. I can't say what or who it is for as this person might read this, but when I get a little more knitted up I will post a picture of the pattern.

Looks like I'll be heading to my local yarn shop for the knit up tonight.
DH left early this morning to head for SC's Fort Jackson. While I was doing my morning cleaning I looked out the front window and there was DH walking toward the door. WHAT?!?!? Why are you home? "Well in order to get on base I made sure my registration, inspection and license were all in order. My license expired September and I forgot about it. I decided to stop just before the SC border and renew my license." Laughingly he says "but I can't because NY suspended my NY drivers license." Okay now he has not had a NY driver's license in 9 years, he has a NC license, he has renewed the address twice and not once did this come up. He said NY is charging a 25.00 suspension fee and he has to pay it in order to get his license out of suspension. He tells me he will just pay it and it will be taken off. I'm curious as to what this is for, he says I think it has do with the time DS1 went to NY and had the car confiscated. You think, I say, you are not sure. No, they said something about it having to do with my insurance.
Okay now if it was me even if it is only 25.00 I would want to know exactly why? Plus the thing with my son, NY was in the wrong and they had to relinquish the vehicle plus pay the storage fee themselves because they were in the wrong. This is what happened - a short version - Son was going to NY just shortly after we moved to NC. DH loaned him one of our cars. Now this car had insurance - Nationwide - which we took out in NC when we moved here. DH and I had our license changed to NC we just did not register the car in NC we kept the NY plates. We just got the plates on this vehicle about two years before this and in NY you do not get a refund you get a credit to use again. HELLO!!! we aren't going back to NY we live in NC, we just figured we would run the plates until they were ready to expire and then transfer them. HAH! so we thought. Son gets pulled over in NY (oh he has a NY license), the car comes up uninsured, even though he has papers saying that it has Nationwide (plus in NC you cannot get a dl unless you are insured, car or not, you must have insurance, car is in DH's name). They confiscate the vehicle, impound it, and give him a ticket. We contacted Nationwide, they took care of it for us and vehicle was returned. Seems like it doesn't matter where your car is insured, insurance is insurance.
Now I thought maybe mistaken identiy but dh and ds1 have different first and middle names; SS # is definitely different - one was born in NY the other in NJ, so I don't think that is it. When ds1 moved back to NC he had to renew his license and there was a charge from when he let his license lapse and he received a ticket, he paid the ticket but didn't pay a portion for the court costs so he had to take care of that, but nothing from NY.
Now if it was me I would pay the charge; he has to because he won't be able to work if he doesn't get his license renewed, but I still would try to figure out what the charge was for. I know most people like dh would be it's only 25.00 let me just take care of it and to hell with it. However, since I am the untrusting one, I'm thinking what if NY is pulling a scam to raise money? If they did this to 10,000 people who think it's only 25.00 let me pay it and forget about it, that is $250,000.00 extra in their coiffures, even only 1,000 people that is 25,000 extra.
Oh well - I get to go to knitting tonight LOL.

I have been trying to get my mail for over an hour and no success. Being a geek I've been trying to resolve it myself and I never thought to look over at Bellsouth's site and ask their tech support; I should have. They have a Network Status link and guess what - the whole nine southern states they service has mail outage. Okay I guess I can stop breaking my back.
I have been dying to try one of those places that you can make your meals in advance. Kip has been talking about a few places on her blog and she has been raving about them. I found a place here called Dream Dinners and I really want to try them. Their menus sound great and they feed 4-6 people, and a lot of them are placed in Ziplock freezer bags so I don't think it would be to hard to divide them up into two smaller bags if needed. The biggest problem I have is freezer space. My tiny side-by-side will not fit any more into it and believe me there is not a lot in there. I have been asking for a freezer for a while and DH keeps dragging his butt on this one. We finally went last weekend and checked out a few and we narrowed it down to two. Now just to get him there and order it.
Speaking of DH I am a little miffed but I can't really be at him; so I guess I should say I'm miffed at his company. During my driving days I would go to two different stitch groups; (knitting meet-ups) one in Chapel Hill and the other in Burlington at Needleworks (sorry can't give an URL as I can never find one on Google). During my non-driving times DH would take me when he was in town but it finally got to a point where he was always out of town. He has been in town for the most part and I thought this will be great time to go to Burlington for their Thursday knit-up and on Saturday to their Fair Isle class. DH calls me yesterday and tells me his company wants him in South Carolina for Thursday and Friday. ::::rolling eyes here:::: Oh well there goes my knitting meet-up, he did promise he would be home Saturday so I can make the class; which I am very excited about because it is with a well-known knitter.
This makes it so hard to plan for anything. My local scrapbooking stores all have classes and meet-ups but they are pay and schedule in advance. This is hard for me to do because his company does a lot of these last minute things. What sucks is that they really don't have to because they have a service department that handles emergencies but a lot of these places request my husband personally because they like his work ethic and him (he is the original at the sites which is usually 1.5 - 2 years so bonds are made, and then service takes over when he is done with checkouts). YES! a lot of times I am a weekend wife, they have some saying for it with widow but I forgot what it is called something to the effect of a football widow.......
Well Saturday will be here soon enough and I'll see some of the ladies there. I hope.......

It is raining here and has been off and on (mostly on) since Sunday. This is a very good thing as we have had drought conditions for so long. I think we might be getting back to normal; a few weeks ago we were 6" down.
Nearly had a heart attack this morning. My computer was on for some reason (I normally turn my computer off at night maybe DH went on this morning) and I rebooted only to have my brand new flat panel monitor not come on. I really love this monitor but I am on a credenza which is only about 2.5 feet wide and this 19" monster is right in my face. If I was on my normal computer desk I don't think it would be as bad because I could move it back more. Oh well I guess I'll have to deal because all the other monitors that were smaller than this, 15 & 17", were not as clear. It took me 8 weeks to figure out which one I wanted and another 1.5 hours in the store watching all the different ones. The clarity on most were so hazy and I really noticed it. Maybe losing my hearing is making my eyes better. I do know for close up work I have to take my glasses off, even though they are bifocals it just doesn't work.
Which reminds me I need to contact our opthamologist and make an appointment.

Sometimes I have to wonder about them. When I was diagnosed with Meneire's Disease a year and a half ago and was told not to even think about driving I stopped driving. Well around here you don't drive you don't work; and I had told my employer that I was leaving them about two-three months before the diagnoses. I didn't want to keep my boss hanging on; if I couldn't work she would have to find a replacement each week for me, and since we didn't know what was causing these awful dizzy spells and my hearing loss until the ENT specialist had a go at me I only thought that was fair to the company.
Not only does my not driving preclude that I cannot work; I also would not be a very reliable employee. These spells hit anytime they want and if they are the vicious ones I could be down for hours; the small one alone is at least an hour and this happens regularly during the week. Not to mention that I am extremely embarrassed when I do get a spell as I tend to lose my cookies and there is NO TIME to run to the bathroom; unfortunately.
Well I figured I better let my student loan people know what was happening and they sent me the forms for the Dr. to fill out. He returned one of the forms with the wrong date - a date that said my disease started in 1988. Well there is no way this started then and he even stated that it was impossible for that to be the start of my problem. It just asked on the form what problems I had and when, and I remember having a really bad ear infection and vertigo where they gave me Rx and it took care of it. Sooooo I send back the form after talking to his secretary and she even agreed that the date should have been in 2004 not 1988. Well I need to back up here, during my last visit he stated that he wanted me to lose weight and get back down to what I was 15-20 years ago and after that if it didn't change anything then he gave me various options that are all invasive and entails brain surgery or pouring strong chemicels into my ear canal; all of which I refuse. At the very end he suggested I see another Dr. and consult on these various options. Note I said suggested here. Okay back to the form. When he sent back the first form with the wrong date he added a note and said that he had asked me to see this other doctor and I hadn't done that yet. So when I sent back a new form I included a note to refresh her memory and told him that I must have crossed our wires as I thought this was after the weight loss and if that didn't work; but if he really wanted me to see her I would make an appointment after the holidays.
Upon arriving back from Ct. I had numerous phone calls from this other Drs. office seeing if I can make it in on Monday at 10:30. She was all flustered because she had been trying to get in touch with me for three weeks but had been unable to. I explained that I was out of town and told Dr. Farmer that if he wanted me to see her it would have to wait until after the holidays. However, I did agree to see her today.
I went in had another audiogram and discovered that my fear was coming true; not only do I have lose in the left ear but I am also exhibiting signs of Meneire's in my right ear. This Dr. did not want to try any of the invasive procedures as they all will kill my equilibrium in that ear and since I am showing signs in both ears she does not want to do that. But since I noticed that my spells are a lot stronger when I use salt (I do not normally salt my food, it is very rare when I do) we will try a diuretic and a low-salt/salt-free diet and see how that works.
But, this leaves my student loan discharge papers in limbo somewhere. I tried getting in touch with Dr. Farmer's office to see where it is (they never returned it to me) his secretary has not been there only an answering service. I'm hoping tomorrow I'll have some answers, especially since the student loan people have been waiting patiently for a year and a half.
I was a little miffed at all this. Does he think he has the right as a Dr. to mandate that I go see another doctor to consult very invasive surgery either because he is a well-known specialist in this area and/or to hold my student load disability papers hostage (mind you this is not for regular disability, just my student loans) until I go see said doctor? He diagnosed me with this disease after numerous testings and visits to rule other things out, it took nine months to diagnose this. He was the one that came up with this disease and not me, so I just don't get it.
Oh well, it is over now, and I was able to confirm a suspicion I had since October. A suspicion I hoped was not true.......

WOW! Am I glad to be back. We left the 28th of October for Ct. and it took us two days. I told my brother I wasn't going to do this trip in one day - it just takes to much out of me. I spent three week in Granby taking care of my two nieces. OMG are they the sweetest.
There is a great scrapbooking store called Three Scrappy Ladies in Canton Ct. which is about 15 minutes from my brothers, I found the 8.5 x 11 scrapbook I need for my sons play that I'm doing. Michael's also had a 50% coupon and I picked up the Chatterbox 12 x 12 album kit. That was definitely a great deal.
I also met my a friend from college (I was a non-traditional student and so was she) in NH. I didn't realize how close she was to my brother - 2 hours. She had a Michael's that just opened and they were having a grand opening so we did some damage in there. I picked up the Slab for 7 dollars, I couldn't believe it.
There are also three great yarn shops; one in Granby and two in Avon. Naturally I had to pick up yarn. I mostly bought sock yarn, but in Marji's in Granby I also bought some wool and made a sampler scarf.
My chuch has a silent auction every year and this year I am going to donate a scarf and a pair of socks.
The sock on the left I started and finished in Ct. The pair on the left I had started and I finished them while in Ct.
I will try to get a better picture of the scarf.
I didn't do any scrapbooking while there, but I did take lots of pictures.
Oh well more tomorrow.
Have a great day!

An email I sent off to Food Lion's corporate customer service center:
I am just coming home from shopping at Food Lion. My cashier was friendly and we chatted about the Susan G. Koman candle I was purchasing. When I was through she told me to have a nice weekend and I said "You too." I took about five steps away from the register and another Food Lion Employee (Kevin, I saw his badge) approached the cashier and in a snotty tone mockingly said "Yoooou tooooo." I turned and looked because I could't believe my ears. They then proceed to laugh and whisper amongst themselves.
My husband was with me and told me to go back into the store and complain otherwise I would stew over this all day. As I headed back and towards that register the assistant manager was approaching me. I asked him if he was the manager and he said no 'the assistant manager.' I told him I had just been through this register, I pointed at the register, and proceeded to tell him what happened and pointed out the boy who did this. The A.M. was giving me this look like are you serious, then says 'are you sure it was him,' Like he didn't believe me, not as a clarification statement. I said "yes the boy with the little moustache thing, Kevin." Again he looked at me strangely and kept staring at me. I just stood there shaking and not knowing what else to say just stood there. I couldn't believe this was happening. The Assistant Manager was acting as if I was making all this up. I am not a little girl I am a 45 year old woman, why would I lie about a situation that just happened 3 minutes in your store?
Finally he said "I will take care of it." But something told me that he was not going to do a thing about it. As my husband and I passed by the big glass windows in our car, you could still see Kevin with the cashier chatting away.

I guess this is the week to deal with CS, but wait until I post what happened at Michael's I'll save that for later

Ick! I was sick last night and just didn't get enough sleep, so I'm kind of sluggish today.
Had a great time last night helping someone with their blog. They wanted to add links on the side to blogs they read. It has been a while since I've done computer help and this was through IMs which was a definite first. Like I said it was fun though.
Well my favorite grocery store for meats changed hands. I like to shop at Weaver Street or Fresh Market for their organic things and try to as often as I can. However, I like Bi-Lo for their deals, they usually have a lot of buy one get one and if you don't get the second one they will charge you half for the first. Highly unusual. This might be awful to say but I hate to waste my money on organic food for people who don't appreciate it - e.g. DS1 and my parents. If my father hears something is organic he will go on and on about how it is a rip off, there is no standards, you don't know if it is or not blah blah blah! My Mom just goes along with him and agrees. So why pay more for something he won't enjoy anyway. BUT!!! get this, when I was to their house the coffee they bought was organic, they claimed they didn't even know it. Then when they came down they had something, forgot what it was, and that also was organic. I naturally had to be a smart ass and say something, and Dad was yeah so we like the flavor. DUH!!!! that is the whole point of organic, you don't have the mix of chemicals to the flavor. Organic is supposed to be from seed right on up, so it is a natural taste.
Well anyway, K-Mart had some great meat prices so I decided to do some shopping there. What a waste, no wonder they are going under. Now mind you, I got the flyer on Sunday and we went on Monday. I would say that most of what was on my list was not on the shelves. One good thing they had a lot of SB supplies on clearance. Now at one time this K-Mart did not have SB supplies, or should I say they did, they got rid of them during their closing period, and now have restocked.
Here is what I picked up. Ten packs of card stock some embellishments and scissors.
This is great because I needed the cardstock for some Xmas items I'm making. Which reminds me I need to get off here so I can do my Rolodex Swap Cards.
Ciao!!!

There is so much to say today I have so much on my mind, that I don't know if I will put it all in one blog.
First - I heard from both sons yesterday. DS2 started his new job and loves it and the pay. His starting pay is what I was getting when I moved from NC DOJ to UG in '98, before computer burn out. Now mind you, this pay rate came because of years of experience and training in a certain program, so I am very proud of my little baby. He is in the computer field working for a hospital. Go T!!!!!
DS1 called last night and he is settled in Pa. He found some roommates and they are sharing an apartment. His job is boring (which we all knew, but knew it would not do any good telling him) and he says they treat him like 2 year olds. Hey Hon welcome to the world of work. I remember at MetLife when I was a claims approver they treated us that way. In the beginning we had older bosses and they treated us fine, but once we got up onto the floor the bosses were a lot younger and treated us like 2 years old. I think it had to do with second shift because management on the 1st shift were older. I did enjoy that job, but I digress, on to DS1. He said there is a fiber optic company in town hiring and paying great so he was thinking of applying there. I didn't think to ask of benes, because Nationwide does have insurance.
It just hit me, both boys are doing work related jobs that are similiar to what I did. Interesting!!!!
Second - Okay received a call yesterday from a political party asking for donations. You could tell this guy was reading a script but hey that was fine. Warning flags went up when he said the name, it was so fast you could not hear all of it. It was the political party and blah blah blah. I asked him to repeat it but still it was garbly gook. Well anyway, DH and I have a rigid policy when it comes to donations via the phone, we want them to send us the literature on their company before we will donate. We do not donate to companies that give only a small percentage to the companies they are soliciting for. Well naturally he started out at a very high $ amount and I said no more like between $ and $ after I read your literature. He says 'we will send you out a package of information about us and you will donate this $ amount.' 'As long as everything checks out I will.' He then transfer me to someone to confirm. Okay that sends out another warning signal. She comes on, again the garbled company name and states, 'You are agreeing to donate $.' I said no it depends on what is in the package. 'Package?' she asks. Yes I was told I would get a package, I am assuming it will give me information regarding your company and the donations. Yes, but we do not send out the package unless we get a firm commitment, she tells me. I tell her, I do not commit unless I see the package. She then asks 'will you agree to donate if the material in the package is up to your standards?' Yes, if your company checks out I will donate.
Now excuse me here, but I am under the impression that if solicitors call for donations they must send you information on their company if asked and it is not a guarantee that you will donate. I can't wait for this information to arrive, if it ever does. I think it was a total scam. If I donate I will do it directly to the party and not through a company. But they made it sound like they were the party, even though my inkling says NOT!
Still more on my mind but I'll continue later.

Well it has been a while since I blogged. I did have one set up on another server but that went kaput. Seems like the owner just didn't want it the setup (it was my and other peoples blogs, internet sites, emails you name it) on his server anymore and just pulled it. YUP! Just like that, I lost everything. He deleted it all.
I was diagnosed with a dreaded disease called Meneire's last year and I have been dealing with it. Meneire's is this fullness in your ear and you get extreme vertigo, along with tinnitus and eventually you go deaf in that ear. It can also travel to your other ear. I don't leave home much unless I am with hubby. I am soooooooo afraid I will have one of those real bad ones. Everyone calls them drops, you will literally fall to the floor because vertigo has hit so intensely. If you have anything in your stomach, yup, that is coming up. You can't move and it is very hard to talk. The residual effects from this can last up to 8 hours if not more. So I try to stay near DH because he knows what is going on.
I have been doing a lot of crafting. It is relatively safe, LOL unless I should fall on my scissors, knitting needles or tin snips. I have been doing a lot of scrapbooking and card making lately. I purchases a ton of stuff, so much I am to embarrassed to admit, but one of them was the Kard-a-lope. It has templates to make different sized cards and envelopes. I have made a few so far, for my sister's birthday, my parents anniversary, a get well and a welcome home for my DS1. I need to get busy and make one for his birthday and DHs.
DS2 wrote me a letter (he decided to move to Ca. and has been out there for 3 1/2 months) and I need to make a card and write him a letter. Or maybe I'll write him a letter and send his gf a card since she sent me the sweetest card from Hallmark.
Here is one of my cards I made for a neighbor who went into the hospital to have hip surgery. I also included a jar of my homemade strawberry jam. She was so happy the
first time I gave her a jar that it made me feel so good. She is
elderly and it was the first year that she was unable to make
strawberry jam. Her and her husband have really enjoyed it. So I
decided to gift her with another jar.
Her husband is a hoot. He owns one of the local gas stations here in town and their last name is very close to mine so he has always treated me like kin. He made my move to this area so enjoyable, I felt so welcomed. Which sometimes here in the south it is very hard. A lot of the men down here think women should be seen and not heard. I am not kidding, if my DH is talking to another man and if I walk over to join the conversation the men will just stop talking and leave. This has happened more than once. Well okay I am not sure if it is because I am a women or because I'm from NY but DH seems to think it is a woman thing because he is also from NY.
