Well I decided to get real serious about something. Seems to be a common thread with me lately. About a year ago I promised that by my 50th birthday I would be fit and lose a good portion of the weight I have gained over the years. Well I am determined to do this and I have tried, Lord only knows I have tried many things. I did Weight Watchers, South Beach Diet, counted calories, and just watched what I ate, eating organic healthy nutritious food - yogurt (fat-free plain) with grapes and a bit of granola, lunch would be a sandwhich on low sugar whole wheat bread and dinner would be whatever I made but not overly rich or fat laden. We are not dessert people but once in a while we would have something (as you know by the pictures), and chips are not a big factor in our diet. I was walking/running about 2 miles 3 times a week and I did manage to lose a little. Realizing I needed help and one on one coachng (WW and their group setting just did not work for me) I took the step yesterday and joined Jenny Craig.
I signed up for their year maintenance plan which means for 12 months I have access to their coaches in office and online 24/7. They also had a few incentive programs going on right now which was an added bonus to my already made-up mind. I have also decided to blog about my progress and keep track of emotions, eating habits and whatever may come up during this journey.
Yesterday's weigh-in I came in at 194 WAH what happened to my svelte 115 pound body? Well my biggest downfall happened back around 1986, I stopped smoking, started a desk job, and worked across the street from the best Italian restaurant in town called La Belle's. They made the best sandwiches not to mention a personal pan pizza which in reality was a two-person pizza, and I would eat the whole thing. That was the start to my major weight gain and it just never stopped from there. Now I plan to make it stop now in 2009 to be a newer fitter me before March 2010.
