WOW it has been a while since I have been here. Ever since taking care of my aunt and her passing I have been out of sorts. The last few weeks I have been travelling and that has really helped me a lot.
This week I was in Andover MA with my DH. He had a class up there and I figured it would be a great time to see if I can catch up with some friends.
Since Monday was a holiday DH and I took a ride up to Freeport ME to LL Bean. I needed a swimsuit and figured I would be able to get one there. No luck since it was out of season. I did manage to find a Crabtree & Evelyn outlet (did not realize that was a big outlet center up there) as my store closed down and I needed some Savannah Garden products, unfortunately I did not find the perfume. I also managed to get some Christmas presents, I think the earliest for me.
Tuesday I met up with Briley from BrileyKnits and we had a great vegetarian lunch and then it was off to some art studios. We met an awesome weaver and I managed to get some yarn that her sister made, a great yellow tea towel that Cindy (I hope that is right) wove. We then headed of to Classic Elite in the Hub Mills Warehouse. Oh yeah that was totally dangerous. I saw a gorgeous sample sweater that they were selling but wanted to make one myself. They managed to find the pattern listed in their archives and she was able to find the pattern for me in the files. I also bought them out of Miracle yarn, 16 skeins (I always get extra just in case), which is the yarn called for, except I bought mine in a green. We then headed off to a wonderful coffee and tea shop and then back to the hotel. It was just awesome to finally meet Bri as we have been trying for ages to meet-up and he really is as wonderful in real life as online. Hugs Bri!!!!
Wednesday I called the concierge desk to call me a taxi to take me to the commuter rail station. To my great surprise a wonderful black town car was waiting for me. I took the train into Boston and met up with a friend that I met at the Creative Freelancer Conference in San Diego. We had a great lunch and headed over to Windsor Buttons, as Briley had suggested. See it turns out that while Jody and I were discussing plans to meet I found out she was a knitter also. I guess we have these internal magnets and always manage to meet them somehow LOL. What a great shop and I got a few skeins of sock yarn. When I was sitting in North Station waiting for my train back to Andover I happened to look up and this girl sitting next to me (she was sitting sideways on the bench so I didn't notice right away) was knitting as was I. She was making a really cute hat and I never thought of asking her what pattern it was.
Thursday I rested up, with my Fibromyalgia that is about all the excitement I can take without being totally worn out. I did start the sweater and sat in my room listening to knitting podcasts and knitting.
Friday we headed out for my brothers in Ct and I found out that Webs is pretty close to them and not out of the way, so sweet hubby drove me there and I shopped until I couldn't anymore LOL. I only bought a few skeins of Classic Elite classic one fifty as I was kicking myself in the ass for not buying it out of Classic Elite's $1.00 bin. I want to make mittens for my Ct. nieces and I thought this yarn would be great, as Briley suggested LOL. I also picked up some gadgets and books. I am to tired tonight to post pictures so I'll do that tomorrow or later this week.
Well I'll finish off the trip tomorrow. Have a great night! Hugs!!!
