Not sure if I posted this or not but I am in the middle of making two pairs of Nanner Socks using the yummy Malabrigo yarn I used for the Clapotis. When I ordered the second skein of yarn I never thought about the dye lot number and the second skein is a little more greener; whereas, the first skein has more blue in it. I really thought that anal me could bypass the difference but it really was a dramatic difference. I decided to do two pair so I stopped just after the cuff of the bluer sock and started on the second sock using the other end of the skein. The more I knit on the second sock the more I am thinking I am going to frog the other greener sock and use the yarn for another sock design. I have been itching to create another sock pattern and decided today that is what I am going to do.
How was your Memorial weekend? Ours was pretty quiet. Mattie started in with diarrhea, which she seems to get every year at this time, and it is horrible. Okay if you are eating or get grossed out move to the next paragraph. It stinks to high heaven and is very mucusy. We didn't crate her when we went out Saturday and left her in our bedroom with the door closed and we came home to one heck of a surprise. YEAH it was bad. DH and I cleaned up the mess and Mattie, left the bedroom windows opened, and I put in two bowls of vinegar and put down some baking soda scented with essential lemon oil. Not thinking wet floor plus baking soda not a good mix LOL. She still has it today poor thing, if she has it one more day then she is going to the vets. We started her on some meds yesterday and I want to see if they kick in first.
Saturday I felt like I needed a hair cut badly, it is so hot and my hair is so thick I just couldn't take it. I had DH drive me to Ulta in Durham and I found a wonderful hair stylist, I am soooo happy. I told her think of me as your practice tool, do whatever you think would look good, I am easy going, don't care if you mess up it is only hair, go to it. She thinned my hair doing really nice layers that aren't too short, I can still pull it back in a pony tail. She also parted it in the middle and gave me longish wispy bangs. I love what she did. I was to go back today for highlights but it rained so hard I moved it to the end of the week.
After we got done with our running around and cleaning up Mattie's mess we headed out to Saturday in Saxapahaw which is a Farmer Market and Music series every Saturday night.
Sunday was spent just around the house not doing much of anything. DH did take time out from his yard work (putzing really LOL) to put up my screen gazebo with me. I love it, it is 10x10 and the four corners have shelves. I put in two lawn chairs and a small table and my double papasan.
Monday we went to Greensboro to McKay's Used Book Store, DH found quite a few of his Clive Cusser books, I found a nice novel by Alise Walker, a couple of books on Buddhism, and the best find were two Diane Gabaldon books on CD - The Outlander and A Breath of Snow and Ashes. I read her books but wanted to listen to them this time as I want to start the Lord John series. We stopped at Carvel for a sundae and headed home.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!
Hugs!!
Namaste!!!
