Bed Before and After
I've noticed something after making this duvet cover. I have a thing for roses and green stripes.
Here is what my bed looked like before the duvet cover.
I completely forgot about this quilt set. I put it away in our summer box and it wasn't until I was changing things over that I found it. The small green pillows actually go with another comforter which you will see, as it is the one the duvet cover was made for. I am making pillowcases for these and you will see in one picture the round tube is done. Notice the edging on this quilt, yeah well keep it in mind LOL.
Notice the pile of books on the right side, yeah my summer reading. All wonderful thrift finds for a quarter, hence the huge pile. This is the comforter I wanted to cover, it is the comforter that matches the above pillows. This was a really expensive set and I was very disappointed with the comforter. They used a really chintzy fabric and every single thing caught on it, even my nails, which would then create pulled strings. Now the pillows, curtains, dresser scarf and bed skirt all are really nice, for some reason it is just the comforter. Now I don't care because it has a new home, this...
Not to sure about the quilts green shams with the duvet cover, I am in the middle of making pillow cases for our German down pillow and our Northern Lights down pillows and two shams. Oh yeah, notice the two outside panels and then remember the quilt. YUP! LOL I have another quilt I leave on our couch as it matches the pillows wonderfully and guess what, you are right, that same theme. See the round pillow, that did not take long at all to make, it was very easy and no pattern. I really am surprising myself sewing with no patterns.
Tomorrow is my blouse class and I will be using a pattern. Which is great because I have a hard time cutting pieces so they are straight, but maybe using the rotary cutter it will be different.
Hugs!!!
Namaste!!!!

I think the green shams look just fine. I love both duvets...they're gorgeous! You have good taste in color and fabric.
Hugs!

I always love when things come together like that. I have found that when I buy things I love they often coordinate VERY well...
Thanks for your comment at Blissfully Domestic. I would love to see pictures of your pillows when the make-over is complete.
