92 Years Young
Tante Anne circa 1982
When I go to NY in June I'll be stopping in NJ to see her. I'll have to take a picture of her again, because I realize I don't have a recent one.
Tante Anne is really my Dad's aunt, his Mom's sister, but we have always called her Tante (aunt). Tante Anne and Onkle Henry owned a luncheonette and candy store in the Bronx on Katonah (near the Yonker's border). I spent many summers and vacations with them. She was a second Mom to me LOL and still treats me as her wayward daughter LOL. They would close their store on Thursdays and always drive out to LI to see us. If they went on vacation I was usually along. Matter-of-fact Tante Anne tells me that if they went on vacation without me Onkle Henry was not happy, he actually cut a vacation short to get me and then they went back on vacation. I did enjoy my times with them. Unfortunately once we moved to upstate NY we didn't see them as often. I guess my parents owning a store that was opened 7 days a week put a hamper on visits.
The Christmas 2002 picture was the last time my boys were together, the last time they both were together with Tante Anne, and the last time we actually went to NY for Christmas with the whole family.
