Thelma and Louise are driving up Interstate 95 just having a grand 'ol time. Stories are being told, laughter is definitely heard, a lot, and no mind was being paid as to time, location or vehicle maintenance. Except for Thelma's occasional glance at the light that says Fuel Low, wondering why this car's warning light comes on so early when the gauge clearly says half tank. Thelma didn't want to break up the momentum so said nothing to Louise about the situation. Besides it is Louise's vehicle she must know its workings. A sudden screech comes from Louise "OMG, we need to find gas NOW we are on empty," as she veers off the interstate and down the nearest exit. Thelma a little shocked leans over to take a closer look and asks why as we have half a tank, realizes has been looking at the battery gauge. Not knowing where they are or where the nearest gas station is they head down the nearest large road. Louise is beginning to turn around as it doesn't look like a station is anywhere near here, when Thelma spies someone getting out of their car. After finding out where the nearest station is they head back out onto the road, laughing hysterically and praying.
Finally a gas station can be spotted up ahead. Little yellow notes can be seen on the gas pumps as the SUV enters the lot - NO POWER. OMG now what are we going to do? Does that mean for the whole block, since electrical vehicles can be seen across the street at the other gas station? Thelma gets out and inquires of the attendant and he assures her they have power across the street. Okay... now we need to get across two lanes of traffic, sit at a red light, cross the street and hope and pray that there is still enough gas. Tears are streaming down Louise and Thelma's face as they are laughing so hard in regards to their predicament. Louise turns the engine off as they sit at the red light in order to conserve gas. Thelma informs Louise through her tears and laughter that it uses more gas to power the vehicle up and she should have let it idle.
WHEW!!!! the trip across the street is made, the SUV chugs down the gas as if it is a thirsty linebacker, two women begin their journey anew with tears still streaming down their faces. Onwards to Knit Happens in Alexandria.
