It took me two days to recuperate from my excursion on Tuesday night LOL. I guess I just need to keep track of what my limitations are and if it is something that I really want to do, I just need to remember that some things will take me a bit to get back to normal.
Friday I meet up with five other women and we all headed to Meadow of Dan, just off the gorgeous Blue Ridge Parkway. Merike who at one time owned Carolina Homespun was selling off all her locks, rovings, yarn, spindles, needles, books and just about name it. Her and hubby will be living and travelling the country in an RV and space is very limited - so a lifetime of fiber addiction was up for sale. I'll post pictures later when I take some. I bought some angora blends, mohair blends and a couple of Cotswold roving and two cones of a mohair blend yarn that will be perfect when I do another Skogs. We left Merike's and headed to a little country restaurant called The Mountain House - good food, reasonable prices. Judy decided since we were so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway it would be a shame if we didn't drive down a portion of it and see the wonderful sights. Most of NC is very flat so it is a treat to drive down the mountains and see the panoramic views. We stopped at a little ice cream store and had the best sliced lemon ice cream -- mmmmmm it was awesome. We then headed down Route 52 and drove by Mount Airy - Andy Griffith's hometown, Pilot Mountain - very unique profile, and headed on home via scenic back roads. I had a great time!
The next few pictures is what I sent off to my Secret Sock Kit Swap Pal.
Booga Bag with pocket and smaller pocket with elastic for DPNs.
I hope she likes and enjoys everything. This was a fun swap!!!
