Can we say YEAH! I can't hear you YEAH! Again YEAH! One more time YEAH! Oh thank you Amy from Knitting Help. Because of her wonderful video, under Advanced Techniques, I was able to do the short row. I was picking the wrap up wrong. One instruction I read said to pick up the wraps and place them on the RH needle and then transfer them back to the LH needle one at a time and knit and/or purl together with the wrapped stitch, made huge elongated stitches that were seen and definitely NOT hidden. Do people actually do the instructions that they write about? If this person had done it she/he would have realized that it wouldn't work and that it would drive someone crazy. Maybe this person is one that I have read about (I think in Stephanie Peal-McPhee's book in my sidebar) that does these patterns and/or directions and never really knits them, and is sitting by the pool imagining all the people trying his/her pattern and laughing hysterically because they know they are actually driving us crazy. It is just some sick joke. WELL the laugh is on them because I now have figured out short rows and I am ready to go to my UFO pile and pick up that tank top and knit it 'til completion.
On a side note - I have not received my Bohus yet WAHHHHHHHH!!!! But I did get the book Poems of Color: Knitting in the Bohus Tradition by Wendy Keele. It came fast I tell you. I ordered it Friday, after hearing how great of a book it is by a fellow knitter (Hi Linda) at our Thursday night knit. This book is out of print and waiting to be reprinted, so finding a copy anywhere has been horrendous. I imagine Wendy's write up has caused a huge amount of people to order this book; therefore, causing a shortage. So I spent the good part of Friday morning searching and finally found it in an online shop in Washington called Paradise Fibers. They have some gorgeous yarns in wonderful colourways. The gentleman (Bill Romine) who answered the phone was extremely friendly and suggested that I have it sent Priority mail and that they would have it out that afternoon to me. Well was I surprised when Monday my postman stops and hands me the package. Guess what? The directions to Green Meadow are in the book. So I am thinking that I should order the yarn from Solveig. The better part of me is saying that I need to wait until I am done with the Forest Darkness. IF THE DARN THING EVER GETS HERE.
